Small business payrolls flat in October

Cott Corp. buys provider of water and coffee drinks for $1.25 billion
Cott Corp., a carbonated soft drink maker with dual headquarters in Tampa and Ontario, Canada, has agreed to buy DSS Group Inc. for about $1.25 billion. The deal will extend Cott's beverage portfolio into water and coffee delivery services, water filtration services, and retail services. Atlanta-based DS has about 1.5 million customers.
