Climbing mountains for a cause was not how Peggy Parker expected to spend part of her summer vacation.

Persuaded to join her teenage daughter, the Boca Raton mom is among a record 18 women from South Florida making the annual Freedom Climb to raise awareness and funds to fight human trafficking.

More than 100 women from around the world will scale seven peaks in Colorado this week, aiming to raise $500,000 for such efforts as building shelters for families of women forced into prostitution.
