South Florida pay rises 2.3%, higher than U.S. average
South Florida pay raises outpaced the national average for the year that ended in March, a federal agency reported Tuesday. Wages in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties grew 2.3 percent in a year as of March 31, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. [Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel]
Florida squarely in cross-hairs of climate change
In a report being called "the loudest and clearest alarm bell to date" regarding climate change, the Tampa Bay area is labeled as one of three areas in Florida particularly vulnerable to rising sea levels, with the others being Miami and Apalachicola.
