Business Profile: VR Labs

Although he's still a student at the University of Miami, 19-year-old Tyler McIntyre is running the fourth company that he's founded. VR Labs is a voice-activated concierge service that lets users make a free call and get a spoken response from a computer. Miami Innovation Fund, a new group of local investors, chose the company as its first investment, giving McIntyre $8,000 in exchange for 4.7% of the company.

Before VR Labs, McIntyre founded and sold two other technology companies: A voice-over-internet protocol telecom service and a web hosting company. And he is still running Lucid Technologies, which lets users instant-message across multiple platforms.
