Florida exports up 5.6% in October
The latest international trade numbers show that $4.79 billion worth of goods left Florida for international markets in October, an increase of 5.6 percent from September, according to Durham, N.H.-based e-forecasting.com. Jacksonville leads nation in foreclosures
Jacksonville had the highest foreclosure rate in the U.S. in November after ranking No. 4 the month prior. RealtyTrac data shows Jacksonville had one foreclosure filing for every 288 houses last month – nearly four times higher than the national rate. [Source: Jacksonville Business Journal]
Gov. Scott makes Christmas Eve a paid holiday again
For the third year in a row Gov. Rick Scott has directed state offices to be closed an extra day. Last year state workers got Dec. 24 off. In 2011 state employees received Dec. 23 off since Christmas Eve fell on a weekend. [Source: NBC Miami]
