The U.S. Postal Service plans to end Saturday mail delivery starting this summer to save about $2 billion a year and cut its losses now estimated at about $16 billion yearly.

The government agency would still deliver packages on Saturdays, and post offices now open on Saturdays would keep Saturday hours. But mail to homes would be delivered only weekdays, according to a proposal unveiled Wednesday that may need approval by Congress.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel asked some Floridians their opinions on the proposal. Here are some responses.
