Florida's quote of the day

| 12/20/2012

"Men come up and say they like my purse."

-- Susan Dorris

A Cape Coral woman breathes new life into expired license plates in a fashion-forward way.

In her Cape Coral shop, Susan Dorris is in license plate heaven, which happens to be the name of a unique operation that started with her father's collection and grew to be the family business.  Dorris makes purses.  Her sister makes signs and maps, and her brother makes planes, boxes, and journals.

"My Dad is a license plate collector, so he has a 55 ft. Semi full of license plates," Dorris said.
