» Allen R. "Al" Weiss, a career Disney employee in Orlando who rose to become president of worldwide operations for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, retired in June after 39 years with the company. His surprise announcement was followed in July by the promotion of Walt Disney World President Meg Crofton to the new position of president of operations in the U.S. and France, giving her additional oversight of Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., and Disneyland Paris.

» Becky Cherney, president and CEO of the Orlando-based Florida Health Care Coalition, which she founded in 1984 to improve healthcare while reining in costs, retired in June citing lingering effects of a work-related injury. Cherney suffered from vertigo after an office cabinet fell and struck her and damaged her brain stem five years ago.

» John P. Albright was hired as president and CEO of Consolidated-Tomoka Land Co. in Daytona Beach effective Aug. 1, to succeed William McMunn, who retired after 10 years with the company.
