Derrick Wallace, founder and chairman of Orlando-based general contracting company Construct Two Group, has weathered the ups and downs of commercial construction for over two decades. Most years, the trend for the minority contracting company was up and up. But the recent downturn was so severe Wallace looked far and wide for work — all the way to Africa. Construct Two partnered with Exim Investment Group in Orlando and has landed a deal to build 1,000 units or more per year in Nigeria as part of a government housing initiative in the developing nation.
