» Claire Bilby was named senior vice president of Disney Vacation Club in August in a management shakeup at the Celebration-based timeshare unit. Bilby, a 23-year Disney sales veteran, was promoted after President Jim Lewis left along with several other executives.

» Margot Knight, president and CEO of United Arts of Central Florida, resigned after 10 years with the Orlando-based non-profit to become executive director of Djerassi Resident Artists Program, an internationally recognized artist community in Woodside, Calif.

Lightning is an accepted hazard in Florida, especially in the summer. Recently, surveillance cameras captured a number of people being hit. Weather experts say lightning deaths have trended down for decades and 2017 could see an all-time low.
