Med School OK

Diane Sears | 5/1/2006
Construction on a new medical school at the University of Central Florida, which received approval in March by the state Board of Governors, could start this year and begin training students in 2008. The university has raised more than $100 million in pledges to build the college at Lake Nona on Orange County's east side and has already established key agreements with Scripps Research Institute, the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, Florida Hospital and Orlando Regional Healthcare. UCF expects the school to graduate 120 students a year. The board also approved a med school for Florida International University.
