Amy Keller | 6/1/2006
The Tampa Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau is making a bid for the 2008 Republican National Convention. The convention demands at least 20,000 hotel rooms and a facility capable of seating at least 20,500 people. A site selection committee will decide on a list of finalist cities by midsummer and will make a final selection by Feb. 1. Miami is also bidding to host the event.
