Carlisle makes wires and cables.
St. Augustine-based Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is adding 20,000 square feet and plans to bump up its workforce by 90 over the next few years. President John Berlin attributes the growth to demand in the aerospace and military markets. The company employs about 1,900 people worldwide and 350 in St. Johns County. County officials call the company's expansion the first tangible results of St. Johns' renewed emphasis on economic development, which includes speeding up permitting for new construction and expansion projects.
