$5-Million Gift

The University of Miami has received a $5-million gift from City National Bank of Florida Chairman Leonard Abess to fund the university's Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy.

The 4-year-old center facilitates research on environmental issues by bringing together faculty from schools and departments throughout the university with outside scientists, policy-makers, planners and managers.
