Fast Track Program Expands

Florida International University has expanded its Foreign Educated Physician to Nursing program to Tampa Bay. The program fast-tracks foreign-trained doctors through nursing school with a specialized five-semester curriculum.

The 15 Tampa-area candidates who joined the program in January attend class via an interactive videoconference between FIU's Biscayne Bay campus and Largo Medical Center but perform their clinical activities locally at Largo Medical Center and other HCA West Florida facilities, including Edward White Hospital, Northside Hospital and Heart Institute and St. Petersburg General Hospital.
