Metro Orlando New-Home Starts Jump in 3rd Quarter
Influential Site Selection magazine's new ranking of states by quality of business climate put Florida at No. 13. North Carolina was No. 1 for the eighth time in nine years because of its "infrastructure of higher learning," the magazine said.
The top 10 are North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana and Kentucky.
Site Selection asked business executives to name their own top 10, with Florida faring better. The top 10 are: Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Ohio, Florida and Colorado. The magazine said the No. 1 factor that real estate executives picked in determining site location was "transportation infrastructure."
